In this Higher Order/Critical Thinking Skills unit students will learn about the characteristics and accomplishments of Ancient Egypt, India, China, Greece, and Rome. We will explore how these ancient civilizations influence us today. Students will explore famous places, ways of thinking, government, scientific and mathematical inventions, society, entertainment, writing, and economics.

Fourth Grade Unit One: Survival,
In this Higher Order and Critical Thinking unit students will utilize a variety of strategies and skills to explore the ways in which scientific processes played a role in the survival of Native Americans. Students will develop their own ideas about survival and what it means to be a survivor. We will also explore how scientific processes impact our own ability to survive.

Fifth Grade Unit One: Epidemic
In this Higher Order and Critical Thinking unit the students will participate in the diagnosis of a disease that has caused an epidemic, and develop a plan to reduce or eliminate the possibility of a similar outbreak. Students will explore the big ideas of survival and adaptation.
